THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FLEET
TUG SAILORS (NAFTS) is dedicated to the tugboats of the Armed Services, and to
the men and women who sailed them. It brings together members of the crews of the tugboats
for fellowship and good times through annual reunions. It maintains the camaraderie and
tells the stories of the sailors of the tugboat navy through a quarterly newsletter, the TOWLINE,
and the Web site at NAFTS.com currently maintained
by myself and ex Radioman by name of Mike Turner,
And a Bos'n Mate, Rich Tetrault.
We split the duties... They do the work and I take the credit.
If you are an ex crewman of a
NAFTS type ship or think you might become interested in an Associate membership in NAFTS
please do look over the Web site at the completion of this tour. It's well worth the
time!
Note: Since
originally writing this page in 1997 there have been a few changes. I
got caught up in the NAFTS spirit and at present, (2007), serve as Webmaster
and also Secretary & Membership Chairman and one of Towline's editors.
Towline, NAFTS quarterly magazine is worth the $25 annual dues by itself. It
consist of mostly reader submitted stories plus NAFTS news and reunion
updates. If your not a member but want a copy to browse write me at
Snipe@NAFTS.com.
